Tampa Bay Times Recommends Daniela Simic For Hillsborough County School Board

“Few first-time candidates can match Simic’s resume. She has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Delaware and a master’s in educational policy and leadership from the University of Pennsylvania. She began her career as a teacher, then moved into leadership roles in districts in Florida and Texas, including assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction in Hillsborough, where she supported more than 230 schools and 12,000 educators. She also served the Bureau of School Improvement, where she traveled the state’s west coast, working with the lowest-performing schools in 18 districts…"

“… She also serves as the vice president of advocacy for the Hillsborough County Council PTA (Parent-Teacher Association)."

"Simic would focus on access to public education and teacher retention. She has a firm understanding of the challenges facing a district with diminishing traditional public school enrollment, one that is losing students to charter and private schools."

“As the mother of a child in the district, Simic said she is personally invested in making sure every student has a chance to succeed. She is already up to speed on how the district works and can dig in on Day 1.” Learn More
